(June 11, 2019) St Louis – Save the Date for a unique one-day event on August 29th that will provide diverse business owners an opportunity to meet and pitch their business to procurement representatives and supplier diversity managers from government entities and corporations. Minority, women, veteran and other underrepresented business owners from St. Louis and across the Midwest are welcome.

Food Processing Center offers seminar for food business entrepreneurs
(June 4, 2019) Lincoln, Neb. – The National Food Entrepreneur Program offered through The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Food Processing Center can help food business entrepreneurs with the development of small food manufacturing businesses.
The program, which started in 1989, consists of two phases. The first phase is the “Recipe to Reality” one-day seminar and informs attendees of issues to be considered when starting a food business.
Following the seminar, participants may choose to enter the “Product to Profit” phase of the program. During this phase entrepreneurs receive individualized and confidential assistance from food scientists and business consultants with the development of their own business venture.

ST. LOUIS VETERANS ADVOCATE TESTIFIED BEFORE CONGRESS
ST. LOUIS (May 1, 2019) – Darcella Craven, president of the Veterans Business Resource Center (VBRC), testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship at 2:30 pm EDT on May 1.
Craven, a U.S. Army veteran, will speak about the need for a national Veterans Business Outreach Center. The Senate hearing is set to examine the role of entrepreneurial development programs offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration, including the Small Business Development Center, SCORE and VBOC. The VBRC operates the Veterans Business Outreach Center for a four-state area: Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. She spoke with the committee on the current disposition of the resource partners, collaboration and offered her suggestions on improvements.
